Temperatures may be approaching the 100 mark, but now is the time to begin planning for the upcoming flu season.
Last year’s flu season began in early fall and lasted well into late March, resulting in reports of vaccine shortages in some areas.
Because flu varies in strain and severity every year, officials can never be sure of the demand for the vaccine in advance. Even now, officials at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) cannot yet predict how severe the oncoming 2013-2014 season will be or what strains will be prevalent. Instead, they must make an educated guess about how much vaccine is needed then react to the outbreak as it happens. This can cause spot shortages, as seen this past winter.
The best way to make sure your workforce is protected is to book your group shots as early as possible, when you know there will be plenty of vaccine to go around.
To make that process as easy as possible, we are now taking “RSVP’s” for group flu shots. You can secure your place on the schedule by contacting us now at 800-685-5572, then rest easy knowing that your office will be well prepared for whatever the 2013-2014 flu season may deliver.
